10 Commandments of Life by Swami Vivekananda

1. Life is Beautiful
First, believe in this world - that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves and you will realize that Life indeed is Beautiful!!

2. Set Yourself Free
The moment I have realized God sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see God in him - that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free.

 3. Love is the Law of Life
All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live, live to love.

4. It's Your Outlook That Matters
It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Thoughts gets converted into actions. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.

5. Don't Play the Blame Game
Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless others, and let them go their own way.

 6. Help Others
If money helps a man to do well to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the better.

7. Uphold Your Ideals
Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.

 8. Listen to Your Soul and
You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.

9.  You Have the Power
All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark. Nothing in this world is impossible if you focus.

10. Be Yourself
The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves!

Books Update

Books are a man's best friend, the days of diamonds and all are gone. No one is so busy that they cant spare sometime for taking a book in their hands and go to a corner of the house and get engulfed in the story. Only an avid reader can tell you that books are the treasure of mankind.
I don't vouch to be an avid reader but I certainly try and take out some time to enrich myself and go on a trip to the imaginative world created by the authors. Here is some of my efforts of 2012. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year
Better Late Than Never!

The most hyped year of the entire universe met its anticlimax on the 21st December, the Mayan Calender predicted the End of the World but Alas! We are Alive. This is the beauty of life and death, you cannot bind it in chains, you cannot force its beginning or predict its end or control its journey. All you can do dance in the drizzle, face the wind and sing to the tunes of life and when the time comes embrace death with grace.

The past year like any other year had been eventful and the year that has begun is promising to be even more challenging and happening.Started with CAT Results which were depressing, and rightly had to be because my effort wasn't 100 percent, but as the wise have said let bygones be bygones!

Then out of no where I did something that I had been meaning to do for some days or may be some months, I went to a Toastmasters meeting and I never looked back after that, it was a whole new world and the experience was different. I started getting involved in Toastmasters and my communication skills and my presentation skills have grown leaps and bounds. It encourages me to stay upbeat about current affairs and also has boosted my habit of reading. It is my break from the chaotic life and instills peace in me. One very crucial thing that I have learnt at toastmasters, it is not how to stand up and speak but its how to sit down and shut up and listen.

The year like any other year was again full of ups and downs, challenges and treats. And I had expected nothing less from it.. In the end the year 2012 was totally worth it!
