Simple or Complex

Life is utterly simple and yet most complex. You have to simultaneously attend to both facets of life. When life appears most complex, turn to the simplicity. Simplicity brings peace. When you are peaceful, attend to the complexity within you. That will make you more skilful  If you are only with simplicity, it makes you lazy and dull. Being only with complexity makes you angry and frustrated. The intelligent ones balance them and rejoice in both. If you look only to simplicity, growth is not there. Looking only at the complexity, there is no life at all. All that you need is a skilful balance. If you recognize both simplicity and complexity of life, you will be skilfully peaceful! Colours are the complexity of life. White is the simplicity. When your heart is pure, your life becomes so colourful.

Enjoy being simply complex or complexly simple, this is your life, live it the way you want on the terms you want, live life with no regrets, because at the moment of doing it, you were sure of it!!Open your heart, let people peep in sometimes and if you complaint of being way too open, learn to zip it up. Simplicity in life can be utterly monotonous and boring so try complexity and experience the adventure but all said and done enjoy the moment whether dismally simple or utterly complex!!!

Mood Swings

Mood Swings, a term common in the behaviour and nature of all human beings. Sometimes we are on a real high and then the next second we don’t like our surroundings or anything else beside us.

We all have been victimized by mood swings some time or the other. When we suddenly remember of an awful incident, heartbreak, about someone who has hurt our feelings, some day to day stress or tensions, the list can be endless like this. Mood Swings are like tequila shots which hit instantly and their after effects takes a while to fade off. We all have our ways to deal with the tormentor, off course we all are fighters. 

Here is my list of some quick fixes which I think takes over the mood swing and our mood, swings in the right direction and we start to feel may be not completely good but definitely better again!

The Top 5 Tips:

1. Listening to Music

“Music is the Soul of Life, So Play On”

This is a Quote which I had heard long ago but has stayed with me since. So, when you feel down and out and you want to get rid of it and that too instantly. THEN. Plug in Headphones, Turn up the music  and Let the record play and Shut the world outside. Hit it off with your two three favourite tracks and afterwards u will feel much lighter and the joy in ur heart and the smile on your face will be back

2. Get a Cuppa

Recently I read a book and the main character in the book, sips tea when in emotional distress. Ditto.. Having a mood swing and cant cope up with it? Grab a cup of Tea or Coffee or any any other Hot Beverage. It will re enegise you immediately, the hot cuppa will take away the drowsyness and negative emotions with it.

3. Talk to your Best Friend

Best Friends are the only people with whom you can discuss nonsense and the best part is that, that nonsense is well respected too. So next time when you feel hard to cope up with a wrong swing. Grab the phone and do some talking or nonsense and get respected for nonsense. Your mood will lighten quickly and world will again become a beautiful place. Yes Friends can have that awesome effect on us!

4. Chocolate

If your best friend is not picking your phone then rush to a store and buy your fav bar of Chocolate. Gobble it down and it can make you feel like a child again. Scientifically choc especially dark choc is known to reduce stress level resulting in instant improvement in mood. Girls, Please don't worry about the extra kilos, you can shed them off when you are in good mood!

5. Bond With Nature

If suddenly you have started feeling low and mood not in control. Go get some Fresh Air. Taking a stroll in the park or just watching the sky blanky for some minutes can lift up your spirits and mood. Looking at birds, fresh flowers, green grass, the sea  can also be useful. All this can prove to be very relaxing and ur mood might get the correct direction

The Friends I have

I have been itching to write on this particular topic for a long long time. and I could not have found a better day to tell them, all of them that how much they mean to me. I call them my life’s support system. I call them without any reason and the best part is that they stick to me through all the seasons. They are the sunshine of my Life. A part of each of them lives inside me and a part of me lives inside them. I am what I am because of them. So let me take u all on a journey and let me introduce to u all my friends:

Pratibha Khemka
My Best Friend

The word Best Friend has traumatized my childhood. Never did I have a Best Friend and everyone around me had one, so I used to have major cravings for one Best Friend, and then God gifted me with the Bestest Gift and Pratibha came in my world. We are direct opposite of each other when it comes to taste and preference but opposites attracts, we make an awesome duo. We have been inseparable for years and have shared the ugliest secret about ourselves. I call her my education as she has taught me the value of money and life. We have awesome telepathy always working for each other and she is the one person who can understand my silence too. We have a pact of dancing till lights are out and surely we are each others Best Dancing Partner. The World would have been incomplete and desperately boring if she would not have been there. Morning walks, ice cream walks, shopping walks, talking walks, we have never run out of walks and talks. Though now miles apart the bond is still strong and I hope this remains life long.

When I say this phrase I mean it from the bottom of my heart. She is my soul sister and no matter how angry I am with her actions or words, I just tend to melt at the moment we meet or talk again. She has been my support system my patient ear. She has brought discipline in my life and has inculated some sense of timing in me. She is always on for any crazy thing on my list. Actually I think after staying with me for a while she herself has become little crazy. And Boy! we can talk like really talk, we like discussing everything from people to career, from habits to future husbands, from money to rubbish. No wonder we never get bored of each other. We have promised to become Business Partner some day and I l promise to honor it one day. She has the world’s most comforting hug

Pooja Singhania

Pooja Pajji is what I love to call her. She is my partner in misery as we bear the pain of two same mountains. She is my coochi-koo, ever happy, happy go lucky friend. In school, used to make her study at midnight over the phone and now we always end up calling each other when we want to bitch about anyone on earth. I love teasing her for her slow speed and her bad habit of not willing to walk much. We understand each others sarcasm just perfectly and I love it. Pooja is bindass and a as well as homely creature and my ultimate dirty dancer (Pooja remember Beedi Jaliyele and Billo Rani).

Vidhi Bajoria

Vidhi’s name on my phone is Veeedheee,  a name given by some classmate nevertheless it has remained with me since then. In school we have had fought the same demon together called Mathematics. She has recently become real girly lady type and I cannot disclose the reason here. When it comes to cards and creativity nobody can touch her. She makes amazing pastas and bake dish (puts dollops of butte in them). I had this notion that friendship once starined never gets to what it was before but Vidhi has proved me wrong because we have become even better friends now.

Prerna Parakh

Paromita Ma'am was responsible for our friendship as our friendship flourished as seat partners. She has been again one of my oldest friend but we really got to know each other in class 8. We had a lot in common like our love for studies, projects, tests and exams. We would attempt the same question n options even if we were sitting two corners of the class. We even changed schools together. Our thoughts and frequency were in sync almost all the time. We have had the best times together

Priti Agarwal

A wicked smile comes to my face when I think of her. I have always hit off excellently with all my friends, ditto with her too. We met first time in college and our chords struck together so well that people used to think we knew each other from before.  She is the ultimate cook who I really look up  she makes lip smacking saliva drooling pasta. She has a kick ass attitude towards life and I love it. We have had joyful scooty rides. She has taught me hookah and various uncensored things. My BBM is alive because of her. My weekends remains incomplete if I don't meet her. She has become my ultimate partner in crime

Neha Agarwal

My first friend in school, we were seat partners in Class 1 and friends from then, it been 17 long years (yes I’m Bragging) now I call her Baby Neha , not because of her height but because of her under developed brains. I still remember in class we used to crack the simplest double meaning jokes and she would blankly stare and would ask to explain, this is her sheer innocence. We may not be in touch for months but when it comes to catching up again, we always pick up from the place we left.

Anu Mundhra

My aries twin, we have too much in common especially our trait of forgetfulness which by the way I have overcome but she is still stuck there(sorry anu)(joke tha). We met through pratibha. Anu n really bonded during the time of Prati’s marriage. She is sweet very caring and an expert when it comes to quotations and cards. She has the patience of a saint and she is saint types in many ways. She is always confused but I love to clear that out whenever given a chance. We had a Ball in delhi and there is a walk to remember between us. Anu I hope u remember it!

CAT Group

When I used to watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S, I used to wonder will I ever find a set of friends similar to them, yes indeed I found them, my version of F.R.I.E.N.D.S - Juice, PD, Maggi, Sunny n Ritesh. We are fun we are hilarious we are cheap we are sophicticated we are studious we are irritating, all at the same time we all have had a great time together giving mocks in ims class, pulling each other;s leg later, giving all mba entrance exams together, endless hookhak sesiions, pooja pandal hopping , early morning breakfast sessions bon appetite karoke sessions we have done it all in such short span of time. A very memorable journey indeed.

P.S I think I haven't told you guys so I will take dis opportunity, I loved the surprise that you all gave me on my 2012 bday, I wasn't expecting you all and it was wonderful to see the full gang that too early in the morning.. You guys made me feel realy special.. Thank u!!

Office Friends- Poonam Soumen Da Soumita Di

Poonam.. I never believed that friendships can develop in small tym but then they say its not how long u have know each other, its how much u know each other. I had promised myself that in office I wont make good friends as to keep professional and personal life separate but then u came in and changed all of it. We chatted, hardly worked, shared everything, did everything together and it was nothing but terrific to sum it up. Poonam is one girl who is extremely caring and will go the extra mile too just to make u feel special. Privilige to be yopur friend.

Soumen Da. Wat can I say about him, he knows way too much about me and the best part is he is never judgemental I thank Supreme that he brought him in my life, he is ever caring again with a patiemt ear, he has done his goof ups and confided even I have. He loves his sweets and fish. We might not be still working at the same place but we surely stay connected and updated.

Soumita Di. My right hand in office, an extremely talented poet, her passion is to make collages and surely she showers me with so many of them. She is very helpful and caring and I swear I had never thought we will become such good friends. She keeps on motivating me and helps me to bring the best out of me. Now she is about to leave office and I will miss her a lot!

Jay Ghosh Khemka

I love his nickname but he hates it so better I don't use it! He loves being called as Jay. I tell you he is one hard working guy with full of morals and manners and ethics. He is fun to talk to even funnier to text with. The craziest thing we have done together is watched two back to back movies and we intend to make that 3 back to back movies someday. 

The three of Us

We have had more fights than fun but my college life’s begining was marked with their friendship we have had good times and I would love to see the good part of it. We have had an insane time together with  lots of time spent in Anuja's PG doing utter nonesense talks. They have made my bdays in college fabulously memorable something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Still in touch with Anuja and we are on n off at tyms. She is a lil crack and it surely suits her too!!

Aarti Bharti Shreya Acharya Chunnu

I say their name in one go and in this particular order because I love it. They were my first proper group of friends. A mix of seniors and junors all staying in one locality and we surely rocked our school bus. Acharya was always the centre of jokes but damn sporting, Aarti was too simple to understand all this and Chunnu never stopped cursing and Bharti Shreya used to be there in their own sweet world only but we were a fun bunch and have created riots and stuck by each each through thick and thin.. Its been almost 10 long years and now some are getting married. Its been a long journey with them and I can bet it is an endless one

And I would like to dedicate this which is my favorite friendship songs to all of you….

Well..

If Vincent Cerf was sitting in this room today, he would have definitely looked at me and smiled because he would have exactly understood what I am trying to say. But back in 1980s even, Mr. Cerf himself didn’t realize that he is about to change the face of the world. He is about to create a revolution. Mr. Cerf has given the world Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and the revolution is fondly called the internet.

I understand I can get mixed reactions over here, many of you here will really think is really internet a revolution or an overrated technology? Especially those parents or older siblings whose young kids and young bro and sis are glued to the internet like bees glued to honey

But I want to support my case over here with some facts,

Internet is that industry that has grown over 500 percent in terms in the past 10-12 years. It had a humble 361 million users back in the year 2000 which has become a whopping 1967 million in 2012 that’s almost 2 billion. This industry has given chance to the young minds to ignite and become millionaires’ billionaires’ over night. Mark zuckberg, Andrew Fox, Larry Page, Sergey Brin to name a few. One of the biggest IPO’s in the history of US markets which had a capitalization of over $104 billion was that of an social networking internet company, Facebook

A recent report in India said that there are more mobile phones than toilets in india and I would like to add that more than 50 percent of those mobile phones have internet on them. Internet has really become super common even more than the common cold.

Now coming to individual levels

Internet has made the world Flat, made us individuals Smarter and Richer and our lives simpler and convenient

The distance barrier has almost gone; if the world was small it has become smaller.

My aunt’s paternal family is settled abroad, somebody in Dubai, somebody in Germany, somebody in the Netherlands. She used to meet them once in 4 years once in 8 years, but now she literally lives in their dinning/ drawing room every day, they see each other and talk for hours and that too at the cost of some pennies

We have become smarter, thanks to internet.

One day my FB status read, Potato Gnocchi is the worst form of Italian Cuisine, I thought Gnocchi? I haven’t heard of something like this before, I quickly goggled the word and found myself a recipe, there was a flash in the screen there, Italy in Euro Cup Finals, I followed that read that story then again a Pop up came, Euro Crisis getting Worse, I learnt about three topics in a matter of three clicks.

I became Smarter

You want to learn everything tiny thing on the internet, from knitting to web designing, from cooking to grooming, register in colleges, file returns, pay taxes online and much much more than that.

The world has become Richer.

For many of us internet means facebook, twitter and email but for some more enlightened individual, internet is much more, it’s the world of e books, e magazines, e newspaper. It is a pool of free knowledge.  They even save their cable bill by watching most of the stuff online!!Off course they are saving a fortune over there and I am sure they can buy a Merc after 10 years from that saved money.

The one more thing that internet has revolutionized is shopping, if you haven’t done any online shopping till now, I really pity you. There are offers, discounts , cash on delivery options, return policy of 30 days, not only it saves our hard earned money, it also saves time and is simply very convenient.  A click on the screen and the item is at your doorstep. With hordes of online sites available like Flipkart, Amazon, e-bay, 99 labels, snap deal, book my show, free charge you surely don’t want to give it a miss

The time is not far when, some of these Yebhis or the Mydalas or the Snapdeals would go online selling fruits, vegetables, and all the grocery items. Pardon me if there's already an existing one for all such items; however I haven't come across any until now. Trust me, the day's not far.

Our own club Toastmasters International is a offspring of the internet, we all our connected to TM Int by internet, we pay our dues, update our development, all on the internet. Our club, our meetings, our development would not have been possible without internet. We also have our very own you tube channel, we all have become superstars on the internet.

Internet is not a dying technology, it is a platform that is here to stay, if properly utilized it is like the intelligent best friend you never had. Your dad, mom, brother, sister, your friend and most importantly boyfriend and girl friend might not have all the answers you seek. But take my word Google will have all your answers minus the tantrums too!!
